Some teach children after school, some run adult groups in the evening and some prepare players for competition, with groups by level from initiation to advanced.
Academies such as EDAMI in Gràcia, which also teaches in English, and the Escola Catalana d'Escacs in the Eixample, which adds an online group for adults, hold classes on every weekday. Club schools in Sant Cugat, Cornellà and the Poble-sec teach in the late afternoon, and an international school in Sant Cugat offers chess as an extracurricular activity.
