Tournaments for young players 3

A few recurring tournaments around Barcelona are made for young players. The children's open of the Les Corts Festa Major takes a Sunday morning in early autumn and is organised by the chess section of L'Espiga, and the Guinardó youth open, run by Peona i Peó at the start of September, splits players into age groups, with registration by email.

In Sant Cugat, the Dos Torres club organises a school team tournament each year, with rules, entries and results on its website. Many open tournaments in the area also take juniors alongside adults, but these are the events built around them. Check the age groups, the rating limits and the registration deadline before signing up.
